At Addiction Services for York Region, an assessment is a way of determining the impact that either substance use or gambling has on a person’s life. We want to know how this behavior is affecting you, how it came into your life, and what you would like to do about it.
This is done by having a conversation with you, completing some questionnaires/forms and asking some questions over the course of 2-3, one hour sessions. The assessment will determine the extent of the substance use and/or gambling so that you can make decisions about you next steps.
