The Concurrent Disorder Treatment Group is a ten week psychoeducational group in which participants identify their problems and learn to make informed choices.
The goal of treatment is to assist clients to shift from a reliance on medications and/or addictive substances/behaviours toward increased self-efficacy and resilience.
Clients learn self-management techniques and coping skills to deal with chronic pain, mental health, and substance use issues. Clients 18-and-older in the Concurrent Disorder Program at Addiction Services for York Region with substance use and mental health issues are eligible to participate
