The Global Assessment of Individual Needs (GAIN) is a comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment designed to be used in clinical settings, and supports treatment planning, performance monitoring, and program planning.
The following domains are explored: substance use, physical health, risk behaviours and disease prevention, mental and emotional health, environment and living situation, legal, vocational, and recency, breadth, and prevalence issues. The assessment is completed in Group format, and is completed on the computer.
Note: All clients in the Adult Substance Use Program must attend the GAIN group as their first phase of service.
Currently, GAIN Group Assessments are offered on Thursdays during the day. Morning or afternoon sessions are available. Please contact the Intake Department regarding available time slots and dates.
